Welsh Water Road Disruptions in Hay Continuing
Cusop Village Hall
The ongoing Water Works in Hay have begun again
To start with, Belmont Road and Broad Street will be closed to all traffic (except for access to properties). This will probably be in stages so initially access to Lion Street should remain open.
Once the work reaches the junction with Bridge Street and into Newport Street - predicted to be early February - this section will be closed to all traffic between 1pm and 8pm each day, meaning vehicular access from Hay to the Co-op, NFU, Hay & Brecon Farmers & Huws Gray etc will only be available until 1pm. The only way to access these between 1pm & 8pm will be via Clifford or on foot!
Once past the Dulas Brook bridge, traffic will be controlled by traffic lights allowing the road to be open to traffic at all times. Similarly, as work moves down Brecon Road, traffic will be controlled by traffic lights.
Pedestrian access will not be affected and will remain open at all times.
Access to Castle Street will not be affected.
All work will be stopped and cleared for the two weeks of the Hay Festival in May/June. So it looks like some disruption will be going on for a long time!
